Well, that was a good weekend. I went out on Friday night with Skrael and some of his friends and Rory came along. We went to this German beer place where the beer comes in these massive litre steins. The beer was good (according to the men), but the music was wack, so we decamped to the Ship Inn, where I had a REALLY tasty Margherita pizza and several vodkas.
Saturday night Rory and I went all the way out to Fairfield to Cristal (Kevin)'s place. The area around the train station really was ghetto, but Kev's house isn't. Again, that was a really good night. I was merry (hic).
Kevin is a medieval enthusiast, and he had his practice sword and shield out, and I checked out his metal weapons, which are really cool. I also had a look at some video from the medieval festival thing he went to over easter weekend, and it looks like heaps of fun. I'd love to learn how to do sword combat.
Kevin is also a great host. He and his dad Hans put on a barbeque, and Hans brutalized Rory with his homemade schnapps shots. What a lightweight. I was perfectly well behaved and kept my composure all night. I just chose not to walk around too much. We stayed the night out there and caught the train back the next day, when Rory was feeling slightly sorry for himself.
On Monday I got a job offer from the IT place. And the stockbroker place wanted me so much they matched it, so now I am working for BBY. It's awesome! AND! my car sold! YAY! Thanks to Jono, who has been organising it from New Zealand. That guy is completely totally awesome and I SO owe him.
My PC arrived yesterday too, and it booted up just fine. All in good working order. Just need my clothes and linen to arrive and it'll all be good. I'm feeling pretty good about today! ^_^
