crickets

It's been a week of high pitched noises in the night. On Monday night we had some sort of machine which made a noise that approximated a vacuum cleaner and a kettle whistling at the same time. I had to put some music on in order to sleep. Would you believe that the Deftones were more relaxing than the High Pitched Noise? Tonight I've just watched an episode of Dexter (which is an awesome show, you should get hold of some - I'm up to season 2), and I'm enjoying the noise of crickets in Hyde Park (and the muted traffic that's par for the course in the city).

I'm rapidly becoming bored with my job - there's just not enough work on. I should get out there and market myself I suppose, but I'm sort of lacking in confidence currently. I've sentenced myself to a year at least in this position. Perhaps it'll get better - or perhaps my mind will quietly curl up and die while I save money to see some new places - I'm thinking about an excursion to Europe next year. On the upside, I'm going to New Zealand (for family), Perth and Adelaide (for work) all in the next two weeks, and the following week I have work on the MTV awards, so at the very least I should be kept out of trouble. I shall have to invest in a good book or five for all the plane trips I'll be on. ^_^
